So what are you going to give your guests to eat off their lovely baby shower plates? Any ideas? How about a simple desert recipe that will serve around 16 guests?
Banana Brownies
Ingredients
- 115g butter
- 100g plain flour
- 100g plain chocolate or chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 150g brown soft sugar
- 1 ripe banana, mashed (this can be very ripe!)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat an oven to 170 C / Gas mark 3 and grease a 20cm square tin. Melt the butter in a pan over a low heat. Remove from heat, add the chocolate, and stir until it has melted. Leave to cool. Beat the egg in a bowl, and then add the brown sugar, banana and vanilla. Pour in the cooled chocolate mixture into the banana mixture, and stir well. Add the flour.
Spread the finished mix into the tin and bake in preheated oven until moist in the centre but crumbly on the outside, about 20 to 25 minutes. Don't cook for too long! Remove the brownies and cool tin on wire rack before cutting.
Pop on your lovely plates and serve to the baby shower party-goers!
